- Cisco acquired Reactivity. Here's a press release by Cisco. February 2007.
- IBM acquired Data Power. Here's a press release by IBM. October 2005. There are IBM-DataPower products, but there is also XML oriented research activity (see: WWW2007/XML and Web Data track paper, and a paper from WWW2006/XML track) that has been incorporated into db2.
- Intel acquired Sarvega. Here's a press release by Intel. August 2005. Intel has some XML and Web Services products that have been announced recently.
Other noticeable players in this market for a while now are:
- F5 Networks with its partnership with Reactivity (see press release by F5 Networks). In an article about F5's new release of BIGIP with XML Firewall capabilities and other enhancements of ASM. - Checkpoint says that it has pioneered web services security back in 2002 already. FW-1 is said to be capable of examining XML and SOAP traffic.
- Layer7 that does XML Security and Networking infrastructure for Web Services, SOA and Web 2.0 applications.
- Vordel that does an XML Firewall and an XML Gateway to protect web applications and web services.
- Imperva claims to be able to protect against XML and Web Services vulnerabilities.
- Xtradyne released XML Firewall capabilities with Web Services security.
- Zeus does XML traffic management and XML security.
